SCL is accepting applications for the following position for the 2024-2025 school year:

7th/8th Grade Lead Teacher

We seek applicants who are inspired by the idea of teaching multi-disciplinary and thematic units of study - incorporating language arts, science and social studies - in a multi-age Middle School classroom of 20 students. This teacher would also support on-line learning for mathematics studies. 

School for Community Learning, located on the northwest side of Indianapolis, is looking for teacher candidates that are excited to work in a collaborative small school setting. Our independent, preK-8th grade, progressive school is organized into multi-age classrooms that focus on a student-centered, inquiry- and experiential-based approach to teaching and learning. Students, families and teachers are known well and valued for the gifts that they bring to our school. We teach through a lens of sustainability. 2) Have experience (or interest in) implementing project-based learning, differentiated instruction and the workshop model,

4) Value social, environmental and economic sustainability as pillars of a more equitable world.
